4 Tips For Framing Paintings

Scan or Physical
You have two options when framing a painting, do you want to frame the physical piece, or scan it and have the print custom framed. Frame Haus makes it easy, giving you the option to either mail in a physical painting, or scan the piece and upload it to our website. We will then print the pieces and custom frame it in-house.
Style
Next, consider where you want to hang this piece. Is the room modern, are there already framed artworks in that space? Take a look around and draw ideas for the frame from the space. Match the frame to others in the room, or to furniture and decor pieces to create a designer feeling in your space.
Frame
Having decided on an interior design style, frame your painting. If you're looking for a more modern feeling, stick to a thin black wood frame, but for a more transitional space, natural wood frames are great. If you're looking for a more eye catching style frame, a textured gold frame adds a glamorous touch to any interior.
Mat
Finally, think about if you want a mat around the painting. Mats can add a finish professional look. Mats are also great if your piece is smaller and you want to hang it above furniture, a mat can make a piece a bit larger. Try to keep the framed painting around 2/3 of the furniture it's hanging above so that it centers nicely and looks proportionate.
